Styrofoam XPS
Extruded Polystyrene Foam

For your cold temperature work, Crossroads C&I fabricates and distributes XPS Extruded Polystyrene Foam.
The main component of this high-performance insulation system is extruded polystyrene, a rigid, thermoplastic foam produced in a continuous extrusion process. Extruded polystyrene is effective for insulating low-temperature systems as cold as -297°F (-183°C). The foam’s closed-cell, uniform structure, along with the naturally water-repellent nature of the polystyrene resin, provide moisture resistance. This characteristic allows the insulation to maintain its performance over time in moist environments like those in which ammonia refrigeration systems typically are used. The foam is odorless, non-fibrous, non-dusting and non-irritating. Using extruded polystyrene in an ammonia refrigeration system provides a number of benefits such as good thermal conductivity, water resistance and condensation control.

R-Foil Bubble Insulation Products
Crossroads C&I distributes Covertech R-Foil insulation products which consist of two layers of bubble material laminated between layers of aluminum foil to provide excellent thermal resistance. The bubble contains an air retention layer designed to provide increased strength and puncture resistance.
Insulation is used to either contain heat for maintaining warmth, or to resist heat for maintaining cold. In many applications, radiation is the dominant mode of heat transfer. Crossroads C&I bubble insulation is considerably more effective than conventional insulations in reducing radiant heat transfer.
Crossrods C&I bubble insulation reflects up to 95-97% of radiant energy in addition to resisting other types of heat transfer thus providing effective insulation. Bubble insulation is an excellent vapor barrier and it's important to remember to butt all edges next to each other during installation and tape all seams to ensure an air tight vapor barrier.
Our bubble insulation radiant barrier products consist of *TWO* layers of bubble insulation material laminated between layers of our radiant barrier aluminum foil to provide excellent thermal resistance. The bubble insulation material contains an air retention layer designed to provide increased strength and puncture resistance and reduce conductive heat while the foil side(s) BLOCK 95-97% of the radiant heat.
