Alumaguard® is a line of weather-proofing insulation products engineered and manufactured by Polyguard and distributed by Crossroads C&I. Alumaguard products are designed to weather-proof exterior insulated ductwork, piping, or other insulated tanks, vessels, and equipment and to protect them from corrosion under insulation (CUI).
Alumaguard is a high-quality, self-healing membrane designed for exterior use on ductwork, refrigeration, chilled water piping, tanks, vessels, and equipment. It is a composite membrane that features a UV-resistant aluminum foil/polymer laminate with a layer of rubberized asphalt. It offers excellent UV, weather, vapor, and mechanical protection. Alumaguard is designed with a ‘peel and stick’ feature for easy installation with insulated duct and piping applications.
Another similar product offered by Polyguard is its companion product, Alumaguard All Weather. This is a weather-proof cladding made with rubberized asphalt and acrylic adhesive-based products that are helpful for easy application and cold weather resilience.
Alumaguard All Weather is designed specifically for outdoor use and helps to weatherproof insulated ductwork, piping, and equipment by resisting moisture, air, and vapor intrusion. Like its companion Alumaguard product, it also has convenient peel-and-stick functionality.
