External duct insulation, also known as duct insulation wrap, is a type of insulation used to provide sheet metal ducts with exceptional thermal insulation. It is made from materials such as fiberglass and resin for the interior component and is often enclosed in a vapor barrier facing. External duct insulation is light-weight and comes in a flexible blanket-type form that is usually delivered in a roll, allowing for installers to easily maneuver the duct wrap insulation so that it can be cut to size and efficiently installed.
